Emergency measure passed over safety fears on Edinburgh’s Cowgate

It comes after a man was killed after being struck by a coach.

Just over a week on from the death of a man who sustained catastrophic injuries after being hit by a coach on Edinburgh’s Cowgate, the council has passed an emergency motion for a special report addressing safety concerns around the busy street.

It follows calls from campaigners after a report eight years ago found it was the “worst street in the city for pedestrians”.
