Edinburgh schools pilot phone-free policy using lockable pouches

It's hoped it will encourage face-to-face interactions and less screen time.

Pupils at two high schools in Edinburgh will now have to put their phones into lockable pouches until the end of the school day as a phone-free policy is piloted.

Portobello High School and Queensferry High School are introducing the measure in an attempt to curb distractions in class.

It’s hoped it will encourage face-to-face interactions and less screen time.
