Pupils at two high schools in Edinburgh will now have to put their phones into lockable pouches until the end of the school day as a phone-free policy is piloted.
Portobello High School and Queensferry High School are introducing the measure in an attempt to curb distractions in class.
It’s hoped it will encourage face-to-face interactions and less screen time.
