Edinburgh praised for handling of Queen’s lying in rest

Tens of thousands queued for hours and walked through those doors to pay their final respects

While the eyes of the world are on London now – for the past three days Edinburgh was at the centre of all the attention, with the Queen’s coffin first coming to Holyrood Palace and then lying in rest at St Giles.

The capital is being praised for the way it handled the last few days and shortly after the late monarch’s coffin left, a major clean-up operation got underway.
