Edinburgh nurse celebrates 57 years working for the NHS

75-year-old Annette Heary has worked across a variety of roles within the health service

An Edinburgh nurse who was born just three weeks before the NHS was created says her love for the job has kept her working there for 57 years – and is the reason she’s never left.

Today she met the King and Queen to celebrate the milestone 75th birthday of the institution.
