Edinburgh ironman takes on ten back-to-back triathlons for mental health charity

Fergus Crawley from Edinburgh marks a decade from his own suicide attempt with endurance challenge for charity CALM.

Fergus Crawley, from Edinburgh, plans to mark a decade from his own suicide attempt with an endurance challenge for the charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) by completing ten Ironman-distance triathlons in ten different cities in ten consecutive days.

The endurance athlete will complete the Ironman distance triathlons, which will see him swim 2.4 miles (3.8kms), cycle 112 miles (180kms) and run 26.2 miles (42kms) in ten different UK cities, marking ten years since his mental health reached rock bottom.

The challenge gets under way on April 30, in Edinburgh, finishing in London on May 9, with stops in Glasgow, Dublin, Belfast and Cardiff.

Fergus hopes to raise £122,000 for suicide prevention charity CALM to fund 10,000 potentially lifesaving calls.
