Edinburgh City Council leader resigns after refugee allegations

Cammy Day is facing allegations he sent 'unsolicited sexual messages' to Ukrainian refugees.

One of Scottish Labour’s most senior politicians outside of parliament has resigned as leader of Edinburgh City Council.

Cammy Day was suspended by his party following newspaper allegations at the weekend over messages to Ukrainian refugees.

Police have confirmed the matter is being investigated.
