Economy secretary says Grangemouth should operate for as long as possible

Around 400 jobs are under threat after the company announced plans to cease operations

Scotland’s economy secretary says he does not want to set unrealistic expectations over the future of the Grangemouth oil refinery.

Neil Gray told MSPs he wants the site to operate for as long as possible after the announcement it could close in 2025.

Following a meeting with Petroineos Mr Gray says no final decision has been taken.
