East Lothian Council cuts ties with a number of nurseries

The move means that hundreds of families could be forced to pay hundreds for their children's places

More than 150 families in East Lothian are facing the prospect of spending hundreds of pounds a month extra on childcare.

The council has ended a deal for free hours at several nurseries over concerns about standards.
