Police and doctors are warning against the purchase of e-scooters after Glasgow’s Children’s Hospital recorded a 600% rise in trips to A&E due to accidents related to the vehicles.

Medics say the injuries children have sustained include major head traumas.

It’s currently illegal for anyone under the age of 14 to use an e-scooter, but doctors say they’ve treated children as young a seven in the last year.
