Dundee’s Ninewells Hospital is celebrating 50 years today.
In 1974 Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, opened the multi-million pounds facility which would go on to advance medical care and research across the country.
Five decades on, and the hospital is home to one of the UK’s top medical schools and operates one of the four major trauma centres in Scotland.
