Dundee university head admits ‘incompetence’ amid funding crisis

The institution is planning cut 632 jobs in a bid to plug a £35m deficit.

An admission of incompetence, no money for voluntary redundancy, and only enough cash, to last until the end of June.

Senior figures from Dundee University were ordered to appear before Holyrood’s education committee to explain plans to cut 632 jobs and to plug a £35m deficit.

Unions are now calling for the leadership team to resign.
