Dumbarton man imprisoned in India ‘should be released immediately’ say UN human rights group

Jagtar Singh Johal was arrested in November 2017 after travelling to the country for a wedding.

A man from Dumbarton who is being imprisoned in India should be released immediately. That’s the call from a UN human rights group who have found there is no legal basis for Jagtar Singh Johal to be held by authorities.

He was arrested in November 2017 after travelling to the country for a wedding, but has yet to stand trial. His family here are calling for the UK Government to step in.
