The former MP unceremoniously dumped by the Scottish Conservatives as he was being treated in intensive care for a spinal illness has given his first TV interview to STV News, speaking about his recovery and what the future holds.

The former Scotland Office minister David Duguid was replaced by outgoing party leader Douglas Ross in the July election with the former Banff and Buchan MP saying he had fully intended to run for election.
