Dog thieves could face five years in jail under proposed law

Currently, dog theft is treated in the same way as stealing an innominate object

People who steal dogs could face up to five years in jail, under a proposed new law in Scotland.

The Scottish Conservatives have published a consultation on the issue – which found 97 per cent of people support plans to create a specific crime.
