Disposable vapes to be banned in Scotland after UK consultation

Figures suggest 1 in 10 people now vape - with almost 1 in 5 children admitting to have tried it

Disposable vapes are to be banned in Scotland. They will no longer be available to buy in shops and supermarkets — following a UK wide consultation.

There’s been growing concern about the rapid rise of vaping among children and the effects discarded vapes are having on the environment.

Under the new rules, it will also become illegal for anyone born after the 1st January 2009 to buy tobacco in Scotland, in an attempt to prevent more people taking up smoking.
