It was first discovered in cliffs on Skye in 1973 and now, fifty years on, the fossil of a dinosaur has finally been extracted from the rock it was found in.
The Elgol discovery is Scotland’s earliest recorded dinosaur find and is 160 million years old.
It’s also been confirmed to date from the Jurassic period, which scientists say makes it of global importance.
