The Scottish government’s deposit return scheme is being delayed until at least October 2025, around the same time as a UK wide roll out.
But opposition MSPs say the proposals were “disastrous” from the start and accuse the SNP and Greens of picking another constitutional fight.
The scheme aims to increase recycling and reduce waste by adding a surcharge onto bottles and cans, but some drinks producers say the idea was “defunct from the start.”
