If you’ve tried to make a dental appointment lately, but have had no luck, the chances are it could get harder still. Dentists across Scotland are warning that “practices which can go fully private will and practices which can’t, will go bust”. It’s basically because the way the NHS pays dentists has changed – meaning some will lose money when they see patients.
The Scottish Dental Association says a significant number of its members are being forced to turn to private patients to balance the books and that’s one of the major reasons why some of us are really struggling to see a dentist.
