Demolition beings on estate condemned 18 years ago

Homes were found to have structural defects dating back to the construction in the 1960s

It’s nearly two decades since the homes were condemned – and now the final phase of demolition has started on an estate in West Lothian which had become a ghost town.

Residents of Deans South in Livingston spent years battling the local authority – unhappy with the deals on offer for them to move out of their ex-council homes which had been left worthless.
