Dementia death rate reaching same level as heart disease

Nearly 6,300 people died from Alzheimer's disease and other dementias last year

The death rate from dementia in Scotland is approaching that of heart disease.

It’s considered one of the country’s biggest killers, with women accounting for two thirds of mortalities and those living in the most deprived areas at greater risk.
