Delayed CalMac ferry Glen Sannox starts sea trials

Costs for it and its sister ship Glen Rosa have more than tripled to at least £360 million

One of the delayed and overbudget ferries has started sea trials in a significant step towards being handed over to CalMac.

The Glen Sannox left Port Glasgow this afternoon and headed down the Clyde.

They are also expected to be delivered around six years late. Further tests will need to take place before the ferry can begin serving the island route.
