Declaration of Arbroath on display for first time in 18 years

It was due to be shown on it's seven hundredth anniversary in 2020 delayed due to the pandemic

The Declaration of Arbroath is going on display for the first time in a generation at the National Museum of Scotland, in Edinburgh.

Written in 1320, the document makes the case for Scotland to be a sovereign nation and backs Robert the Bruce as the rightful King.
