Deaf students urges government to fund Auditory Verbal Therapy

AVUK say over 90% of deaf children who would benefit from therapy can't currently access it

A profoundly deaf teenager has told STV News hundreds of lives could be transformed if more children were able to access Auditory Verbal Therapy.

Stirling University student Tom Brookhousing received the special treatment as a child and says it was instrumental in allowing him to lead an ordinary life.

He’s now backing a campaign by the charity AV UK which is asking the Scottish Government for extra funding to provide more deaf children with the opportunity he got.
