The daughter of a woman who was killed in a suspected murder suicide in France last year has pledged to help create a “society free of domestic abuse” in her mother’s memory.

Amanda Kerr says that education and awareness are the first steps in tackling violence against women, and says she wants her mother’s “light and kindness” to be her legacy.

Dawn Kerr was killed in a suspected murder suicide in France in February 2025, French authorities are still investigating but say there is no evidence to suggest another person was involved in their deaths.

In 2023 police recorded more than 60,000 incidents of domestic abuse in Scotland.
