Dame Prue Leith supports Holyrood assisted dying bill

The bill, brought by MSP Liam McArthur is the third attempt to introduce assisted dying laws

The TV star and Great British Bake off Judge Dame Prue Leith has told STV News the moment to legalise assisted dying is now.

After watching her brother die in pain from bone cancer, she’s backing a bill at Holyrood which would give mentally competent Scots with a terminal illness the right to end their life, if requested.

Its due to be published early next year and is the third attempt to lodge such legislation at Holyrood. It’s being vehemently opposed by some disability campaigners.
