The new Health Secretary says tackling long waits for treatment on the NHS will be one of his “overriding priorities”.
Speaking to STV for the first time since taking over from Michael Matheson as Health Secretary last week, Neil Gray said lengthy waiting lists and patients feeling forced to go private for treatment was “unacceptable”.
The number of Scots on a waiting list has more than doubled since 2020 – to over 500,000 people waiting for treatment.
