Nicola Sturgeon will not be prosecuted following a police investigation into SNP finances.
Police confirmed neither the former First Minister nor the party’s ex-treasurer Colin Beattie will face charges. But her estranged husband Peter Murrell, who was the SNP Chief Executive, appeared in court this morning charged with embezzlement.
The announcement follows an inquiry, known as Operation Branchform, during which the three were all arrested and questioned.
