A crime boss, dubbed the ‘Iceman’ has admitted masterminding a global plot to smuggle cocaine from South America into Scotland, hidden in a shipment of bananas.
Jamie Stevenson pled guilty to directing the importation of drugs which investigators estimate was worth in the region of £100 million.
Those leading this inquiry say career criminal Stevenson had fled the country but continued to run his operation from abroad, falsely believing he could evade justice.
Stevenson and five other men will sentenced in October.
