Covid care home death probe ‘discriminatory’ say staff

More than 5,500 Covid care home deaths are being investigated.

It’s been described by the Lord Advocate as, without a doubt, the biggest investigation of deaths in Scottish history – and will cost in excess of £4m.

Operation Koper is the Crown’s long-running probe into Covid care home deaths – but those working in the sector say it’s discriminatory and piling pressure on already burnt-out staff.

Many bereaved relatives are hoping for answers from it, but care leaders say it’s not the right way to get them.
