Courts to be disrupted as solicitors to boycott cases

The Scottish Government says it values the role legal aid plays in the justice system.

Scotland’s courts could face significant disruption as solicitors across the country will take action from the beginning of next month boycotting cases – including those involving domestic abuse and where the accused cannot represent themselves.

They say they’ve been forced into taking action – accusing the Government of asking them to do “tomorrow’s work at yesterday’s prices”.
