Highland Council will write to the home secretary calling for ‘urgent clarity’ over plans to temporarily house hundreds of male asylum seekers at an Inverness barracks.
Councillors debated the issue on Thursday afternoon at an emergency meeting.
The plans would see Cameron Barracks provide temporary accommodation.
The Home Office says it’s committed to closing asylum hotels.
