Edinburgh councillors will consider taking measures to force the owners of an Art Deco former cinema in Portobello into making repairs to the crumbling building.
Campaigners had asked the local authority to take action – they hope to eventually buy it themselves to turn it into a community venue.
The existing owners argue it is beyond repair.
