Conservative MPs vote on Boris Johnson’s future as Prime Minister

The no-confidence vote was triggered by a threshold of MPs in his own party calling for a ballot.

Conservative MPs are voting right now on Boris Johnson’s future as Prime Minister. The no-confidence vote was triggered by a threshold of MPs in his own party calling for a ballot.

Some of those MPs had requested that the vote be delayed until after the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations were over. Scottish Leader Douglas Ross has announced he will NOT back the Prime Minister. The voting will continue for another two hours and the result will be announced later this evening.
