Concern salmon conservation plans don’t go far enough

The worry is work to save the species may come too late

Progress on plans to reverse the ailing fortunes of Atlantic Salmon are ‘slim pickings’ and don’t go deep, or far enough.

That’s the view of worried river ghillies who believe the implementation of the delayed Salmon Strategy must urgently gather pace, if it’s to succeed.

It comes as the Scottish Government publish the progress on 5 priority areas which require action to save the King of Fish.
