Community members in Niddrie have teamed up with the police and other services to clear debris that could be used as weapons in the run up to Bonfire Night.
Hay Avenue has seen some of the most violent attacks against emergency workers over recent years and is one of a number of firework control zones across the city.
This morning police offered reassurance and safety advice to residents concerned about what this year could bring.
