Communities come together in series of anti-racism protests

The First Minister's insists the country will be able to deal with any disorder.

Communities across the central belt have come together this evening in a show of unity against racism.

Following concerns about far right protests, anti-racism campaigners are gathering outside two hotels housing asylum seekers. So far both have been peaceful.

Further anti-racism rallies are planned in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee tomorrow.

Following violence elsewhere in the UK this week, the First Minister is urging caution over sharing misinformation on social media, and says he confident the police can deal with any trouble that arises here.
