Child poverty targets on track, insists Scottish Government

Scotland is forecasted to be the only part of the UK that will see a drop in child poverty.

The Scottish Government insists it will meet its targets on cutting child poverty despite figures predicting it will be far short by the end of the decade.

The Joseph Rowntree Foundation is forecasting the rate will drop here by 2029, unlike other areas of the UK.

However, it says there is still a long way to go towards the Scottish Government’s key mission of eradicating child poverty altogether.
