Charity says likely over 100,000 sewage discharges a year

Campaigners also say they've found traces of E.coli near beauty spots.

It’s claimed Scotland has a “sewage blind spot” due to the lack of reporting of releases into open water.

The charity surfers against sewage says just a fraction of overflows are monitored meaning there’s likely to be more than 100,000 discharges into seas and rivers each year.
