The number of children using foodbanks in Scotland has been described as “heartbreaking”, prompting calls for “urgent and decisive” action.
The latest figures show that 40,000 food parcels were distributed to children facing hunger between April and September.
The Trussell Trust wants to see the Scottish Child Payment increased.
The charity operates 43 food banks across Scotland, and the demand is almost 10% greater than in 2019.
