Charities urge Scottish Government to act on child poverty

The First Minister promised that the Budget will be focused on helping families with the cost of living crisis and providing 'strong investment' for the NHS.

Charities are urging the Scottish Government to take bold action to tackle child poverty ahead of its budget.

The finance secretary will set out her tax and spending plans for the next year at Holyrood.

Campaigners want to see the Scottish Child Payment increased to £40 per week to help those most in need.
