Charities helping parents afford new school uniforms

Parents can apply for clothing grants around £120 for primary school and £150 for secondary

The summer holidays have barely begun but already some parents are saving up to afford their child’s school uniform for the new term.

Research from a children’s organisation claims parents spend over £400 a year on secondary school uniforms, with branded items costing more.

Now charities are finding new ways to bridge the price gap to ensure families can get schooling essentials.
