Petrol retailers and heating oil companies have been warned by the chancellor not to rip off customers after the recent spike in wholesale prices.

Rachel Reeves says the Government ‘won’t tolerate’ businesses exploiting the increase in the oil price.

The cost of petrol on average has increased by around 6 pence a litre since the start of the conflict in the Middle East.
