Ceremony at the River Tay to mark start of new salmon season

More than 90 anglers were welcomed in Perthshire this morning

The banks of the River Tay were cast open to anglers this morning as the Tay salmon fishing season got underway.

Perth provost Xander McDade blessed the waters at Meikleour’s opening ceremony alongside actor Burn Gorman, novelist David Profumo took the first cast.
