Catholics in Scotland have paid their respects to the late Pope Benedict

The Pope's visit to Scotland was a visible affirmation of faith by Scotland's Catholics in an age of creeping secularism.

Archbishop of Glasgow William Nolan said he would remember him as a ‘Bavarian gentleman’. The Pope’s visit to Scotland in 2010 was the first papal visit in 28 years.

The former leader of the Catholic Church later made history by becoming the first Pope to retire in 600 years.
