Care sector warn they don’t have the staff for Holyrood plan

Patients will be moved from hospital into care homes under the scheme

Social care providers are warning chronic staffing shortages and an influx of flu and Covid could put a stop to the Scottish Government’s plans to move more hospital patients into care homes.

The Health Secretary Humza Yousaf announced the £8 million plan to buy 300 interim care home beds yesterday, in a bit to relieve pressure at the front door of the NHS.
