Care homes were “entirely unprepared” for the coronavirus pandemic which led to residents suffering from neglect, dehydration and starvation – that’s what a lawyer representing families has told the Scottish Covid-19 inquiry.
In one home, they were forced to use air freshener to clean as all alcohol products were locked in a cupboard.
The inquiry, now in its second day, has been hearing from bereaved relatives of care home residents as it investigates the whole handling of the pandemic by the Scottish Government.
