Candidate nominations close for Rutherglen by-election

14 people have declared they will compete to become the next MP for the area

Nominations have closed for candidates to stand in the Rutherglen and Hamilton West by-election.

Voters will head to the polls in just over 3 weeks time.

The election was triggered by a petition after the previous MP Margaret Ferrier was suspended for breaking Covid rules.
