Cancer patient eating mouldy food after energy bill hike

SSE doubled bills in the Wyndford area, with 100% of residents reported to be in fuel poverty.

A cancer patient says he’s eating mouldy and out of date food, after being landed with a four thousand pound energy bill.

Ali Mohammed Sadegh’s heating and hot water is supplied by energy firm SSE’s Wyndford heating plant in Glasgow.

The facility was designed to ease fuel poverty in the Maryhill area, but campaigners say 100% of the people living there are now in fuel poverty.

SSE doubled their bills in April and residents say it’s crippling them.
