Campaigners welcome plans for Moray maternity return

Women from Moray currently have to travel to Aberdeen or Inverness to give birth

Campaigners say they are cautiously welcoming plans to return full maternity services to Moray in 2026.

The issue’s been debated in the Scottish Parliament with assurances that more investment will be put into facilities and staffing at Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin – those fighting for improvements say the recruitment work must start now.
