Call to charge motorhomes tourist tax in the Highlands

Local MSP Emma Roddick says a charge should be imposed to offset the strain on beauty spots.

They are a common sight at beauty spots across the Highlands but there’s a call to charge motorhome owners a tourism tax to help pay for the upkeep of roads and protect beauty spots.

A local MSP has said the proposed charge could follow the example of the Scottish Government’s Visitor Levy, which aims to use funds raised to improve local areas.
